EPDM and FKM

EPDM and FKM are two commonly used sealing materials, each with different characteristics and application scenarios.

1. Differences:

EPDM: Non-oil resistant, suitable for oil-free environment. The heat-resistant temperature range is lower than that of FKM, but it has advantages in terms of economy.

• FKM: Good oil resistance, suitable for environments in contact with oil. The high temperature resistance of FKM is better than that of EPDM, and it is suitable for higher temperature environments.

2. Advantages of EPDM:

• Aging resistance: Long-term resistance to natural environmental factors such as ultraviolet rays, ozone, and oxygen.

• High temperature resistance: suitable for high temperature parts in and around the engine of the car.

Chemical corrosion resistance: It has good corrosion resistance to weak acid and alkaline media such as water, alkaline, and acidic.

• Application: Widely used in the automotive industry, construction industry, water treatment industry, household appliances, food and beverage industry, etc

3. Application advantages of FKM:

• High temperature resistance: It can maintain excellent sealing performance at temperatures up to more than 200°C.

• Chemical corrosion resistance: resist the attack of common acids, alkalis, esters, ketones, and other strong acids and alkalis.

Low temperature resistance: Excellent elasticity and sealing properties at very low temperatures.

• Application: Widely used in mechanical equipment, chemical equipment, medical equipment, and other fields, especially suitable for high pressure, high temperature, and strong corrosive occasions.
