New Overseas Case Delivered: Electric Actuator With 1” Plastic Valve Put Into Service For Dust Suppression At An Australian Gold Mine

Recently, our packaged solution consisting of an electric actuator paired with a 1-inch plastic valve has been successfully commissioned at a gold mine in Australia for dust control in underground tunnels. The solution has gained positive feedback from the site operator.

Underground gold mining generates heavy airborne dust. Previously, mine workers had to travel back and forth to manually turn the spray valves on and off. This old method wasted extra labour and exposed workers to dusty conditions for longer periods. We customised a remote control and timer function to fit their on-site operation with rail carts.

Workers riding on the rail cart can simply press the remote to activate the water spray valve. The system supports adjustable timing settings such as 5 minutes or 10 minutes, and the valve will shut off automatically once the preset time runs out. After triggering the spray remotely, operators can keep driving the cart forward without returning to close the valve manually. This cuts down unnecessary trips and reduces workers' exposure to dust hazards.

The plastic valve works reliably with the site's spray water, while the matched electric actuator carries out stable on-off actions. The combination of remote triggering and auto timer fits the mine's dust suppression workflow well, balancing practical performance and on-site safety.

This gold mine project adds valuable real-world experience for our integrated plastic valve and actuator automation packages. Moving forward, we will keep learning from dust suppression and mining application requirements, refine our complete control solutions, and explore more opportunities in niche overseas markets.
